PARK FEATURES:

SPECIAL PROGRAMS:

PARK BENCHES

The Lorain County Metro Parks offers a limited opportunity for benches to be donated and dedicated in honor/memory of a loved one, or for the purpose of celebrating or commemorating an event or organization.  It is the sole discretion of park administration to determine the availability and location(s) of a bench. The monetary donation required varies by park and style of bench. The pricing ranges from $850-$3,000. This pricing is reflective of the heavy-duty commercial-style benches selected for overall quality and durability.

While LCMP performs the highest levels of maintenance and care, benches are not guaranteed to remain in place perpetually. Due to weather, damage, and/or normal wear and tear, benches do have a life span and must be replaced and/or removed due to safety or aesthetic reasons. A replacement bench would require a donor to submit additional funding.

To initiate a bench donation, download and complete the request form below. Completion of this form does not guarantee the placement or acceptance of a bench. This form is for the explicit purpose of demonstrating intent and initiating an exploratory response. Return this completed form to the LCMP administration office c/o Public Information Officer at 12882 Diagonal Rd., LaGrange OH 44050 or email to pr@loraincountymetroparks.com.

Once the administration has approved and accepted a request, a monetary donation can be made by phone at (440) 458-5121, or delivered to Lorain County Metro Parks c/o Public Information Officer at 12882 Diagonal Road, LaGrange, OH 44050.

TREE DONATIONS

The Lorain County Metro Parks offers a limited opportunity for native trees to be donated and dedicated in honor/memory of a loved one, or for the purpose of celebrating or commemorating an event or organization.  It is the sole discretion of park administration to determine the availability and location for tree planting. The monetary donation required varies by species and size of the tree, pricing starts at $350. This pricing is reflective of the material and labor costs involved.

Tree donations do not include any mark, plaque, or signage for inscription purposes. While LCMP performs the highest levels of care, trees are not guaranteed to remain in place perpetually. Due to weather, damage, disease, or other factors, trees may need to be removed. LCMP will ensure a tree remains in place for one calendar year from the time of planting. If after that initial year a tree requires replacement, a subsequent donation would be required.

To initiate a tree donation, download and complete the request form below. Completion of this form does not guarantee the placement or acceptance of a tree. This form is for the explicit purpose of demonstrating intent and to initiate an exploratory response. Once the administration has approved and accepted a request, a monetary donation can be made by phone (440) 458-5121, or delivered to Lorain County Metro Parks c/o Public Information Officer 12882 Diagonal Road, LaGrange, OH 44050.

The Rose Garden at Lakeview Park opened in May 1932 and was sponsored by several community organizations, including the Lorain Rotary. The shape of the garden, a wheel with eight spokes, is the Rotary Club emblem. In 2005, the garden was renovated to restore the historical grandeur and beauty while including updates to accommodate accessibility needs.

The Lorain County Metro Parks accepts donations towards the continual maintenance and upkeep of this breathtaking garden. A donation of $100 or more entitles the donor or honoree to be listed on a plaque on the garden’s east side. Additions/updates to this plaque are completed every 3‐5 years.
