Something for Everyone

Whether you’re an experienced golfer or just starting out, Forest Hills has something to offer. Considered an intermediate course overall, there are lots of difficult holes—number 16 is one of the most difficult in Lorain County—and plenty of scenic holes as well. The Black River runs through the course and comes into play in six holes, and there are plenty of other ponds, bunkers and hills to keep things interesting. Also available is a practice facility featuring a large practice tee so a player can run through every club in the bag, including the driver. The range also has three target greens to sharpen the short through long irons. The range can be used any time the course is open and can also be used for good old-fashioned practice.

Continuous Improvement

Over the years, Lorain County Metro Parks has made improvements that we hope are more helpful to the golfers of Lorain County. The Superintendent has a trained staff that maintains the course year round creating one of the best courses in Lorain County. The staff is always looking for ways to improve the course including adding new opportunities for golfers of all ages and ability to enjoy Forest Hills.

Frank Horvath Clubhouse and Pro Shop

The Frank Horvath Clubhouse was built in 2009 and named in honor of long time Probate Court Judge Frank Horvath. The clubhouse is a fun and friendly place to enjoy before, during or after your round of golf. Their expanded menu is ideal for dinning with friends and family. Relax on our spacious porch during the summer overlooking the 1st tee box, 10th tee box and the 18th green. The clubhouse also houses our well-stocked pro shop where you can find the latest apparel and equipment for all your golfing needs. Gift certificates are available for the golfer in your life.

Golf Outings

Have your next golf tournament or outing at Forest Hills Golf Course! Our experienced staff will make your event one to remember. You will be able to focus more on your guests and less on the details of the event because your event is in capable hands. The end result is guaranteed to be a success time for all.

From Private to Public

Forest Hills began as a semi-privately owned, 9-hole course in 1960 and was later expanded to 18 holes in 1968. When Lorain County Metro Parks bought the site in 1975 its purpose was to offer the public a quality golf course at affordable rates.
