Welcome to the Recreation Page that is designed to give you information and activities that are available to you and your family throughout the Lorain County Metro Parks to increase your physical activity and recreation needs. Recreation is not limited to strenuous physical activity, it can include any activity, or fun that is the expenditure of time in a manner designed for therapeutic refreshment of one's body or mind. These activities run continuously throughout the year, so check back to our page regularly to find current programs and upcoming recreation activities.

WEEKLY WALKERS

Columbia Reservation -
Get some exercise with little talking and lots of walking. Receive a mug if you do 3 hikes in a month. Program meets once a week. Moderate hike.

SUNSET CONCERT SERIES: M. I. BANDA
07/30, 7-9 pm
Lakeview Park -
Come and enjoy great music with the beach and sunset as your background. 'M.I. Banda' will jam all night with amazing sounds of Latin Jazz. Bring your own blanket or lawn chair. Food will be available for a fee.

MEDITATION AND ART
07/31, 10 am-Noon
Columbia Reservation - Briarwood Lodge
Reduce stress and clear your mind by learning meditation skills and art techniques designed to help you center yourself and relax. These skills can help you live your life in a calm, centered state of being. Great for beginners. Pre register by 7/26 and pay $10 at the door.

SATURDAY NIGHT FAMILY FLICKS

Movies every Saturday night at the outdoor movie theatre! BYOC (bring your own chair). Call for titles. Rain date is next night.

Basketball

With the new field house open and ready to use at the Splash Zone, basketball leagues, clinics and open gyms are in full swing through the months of October and November! Call Splash Zone at (440) 774-5059 for information on upcoming clinics as well as leagues. Open basketball is avilable on Monday and Friday evenings from 6pm-8pm and Monday-Friday afternoons from 11am-1:30pm! Open gym is included in a Splash Zone Membership, if you're not a member the daily fee is only $6!
