Group Fitness Classes
The following classes are included in the unlimited annual Group Fitness Program and are available for individuals searching for a drop-in class each weekGroup fitness classes are offered in our 3 different aerobics rooms and our cycling room. These classes are offered in a large variety of types including:
- Cardio Strength
- HIIT Spin
- Indoor Cycling and more!
- Water Jogging
- Water Exercise
- Deep Water Exercise
- Water Arthritis and more!
American Red Cross "Learn to Swim" Program
The Mercy Health & Recreation Center offers swim lessons year round so your child can become more and more comfortable in the water. Classes are available for all ages and swimming levels for children. Lessons are taught by Water Safety Instructors. They work hard to provide a positive learning environment and teach your child lifelong swimming skills
The American Red Cross Water Safety Program course (r2014) is designed to train instructors to teach all American Red Cross swimming and safety courses. Participants must be 15 years of age by the end of class and must be able to demonstrate the following skills; Front Crawl (25 yards), Back Crawl (25 yards), Elementary Backstroke (25 yards), Sidestroke (25 yards), Butterfly (15 yards), maintain position on back for 1 minute in deep water, and tread water for 1 minute. Upon successful completion, participants will bre able to teach as a Water Safety Instructor for Learn to Swim, Parent and Child Aquatics, Preschool aquatic classes, and adult learn-to-swim classes.
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (R2014)
The course is designed to train instructors to teach all American Red Cross swimming and safety courses. Must be 16 YEARS OF AGE by the END of class and MUST be able to demonstrate the following swimming skills
- Front Crawl – 25 yards
- Back Crawl – 25 yards
- Breaststroke – 25 yards
- Elementary Backstroke – 25 yards
- Sidestroke – 25 yards
- Butterfly – 15 yards
- Maintain position on back for 1 minute in deep water (floating or sculling)
- Tread water for 1 minute
Bring mom, dad and the kids to Mercy Health & Recreation Center for our family programs! With events for children to teens to adults, there's fun and swimming for everyone. Parent and Me programs, teen nights, special events and more are offered. Mercy Health & Recreation Center members get in free to most events.
