Lorain County Metro Parks has several popular places to take photos at for beginners to professional photographers. The most popular places are Schoepfle Garden, Lakeview Park, Miller Nature Preserve and Vermilion River Reservation. Permits are needed for wedding photos and professional photography taken at Schoepfle, Lakeview and Miller Nature Preserve. There may be a fee included with the permit. If you are a group of 15 (children and adults) or more, check out the education page to schedule a program for your group.  All requested programs follow Ohio Academic Content Standards. 

Lorain County Metro Parks offers a variety of public programs that meet requirements toward Girl Scout and Boy Scout badges. These programs are free, however we ask that scouts preregister for these programs as space is limited. Scouts do not receive the patches at the programs; it is the responsibility of the leaders to purchase these through the respective Councils. Maple Sugaring is offered in the beginning of March at the Carlisle Visitor Center. School teachers can schedule a program during the week for their classroom by calling (440) 458-5121. The Burrell Homestead was a stop on the Underground Railroad as runaway slaves made their way to freedom.
